How we work!
In our opinion, the base of successful website (but also every other project) is full commitment of designers and clients, equally. That's why we would like to present you our approach to project management. Process you're about to see is, of course, just the starting point for our actions and is slightly modified, depending on specific project requirements.
Phase I: Exploration
At the start of the process we study your company's environment. We gather information about your competition and make plan of informal competitive website analysis. Then we conduct the analysis.
Phase II: Definition
This is the most important part of the whole process. We try to gather as much information about your desired website, as we can. There is a rule: the more we know at this stage, the less problems we'll have later. We prepared Client Survey, which helps us a lot with such information gathering.
Phase III: Structure
At this phase, website's contents is designed, with site's goals in mind (pasting leaflet's contents isn't such a great idea). Entire site's structure (sitemap) and information architecture (each page's schematics) also get done here.
Phase IV: Design and prototype
Here we make 1-2 graphic mock-ups, basing on information gathered earlier. At this point we also preapre first functional prototypes
Phase V: Building and testing
At fifth stage website production really starts: graphic mock-ups are coded into XHTML/CSS and JavaScript. If project requires, all the code is integrated into CMS and/or other applications. Fifth phase is also good moment for finalizing website contents hand-off (copy, photos, downloadable files etc.). We also conduct QA tests at this moment.
Phase VI: Launch
Final website is transferred to its hosting account. We also deliver you a Hand-off Packet (source files, that let you update website on your own) – if such requirement was expressed earlier.
Phase VII: Maintaining
Website should be alive. You can't just lauch it and forget. Owner has to take care of currentness of published information, react on users' comments and needs. With time passing, even building additional website's sections might be needed.
